Paddaro
About
Paddaro started on Lake Natoma, near Folsom, California, with a question no paddling app answered: where does the speed go? Distance and pace were easy to get. What happened stroke by stroke, side by side, through each turn and against the current wasn't.
The Apple Watch already carries the sensors to answer it, if the motion is read carefully enough. So Paddaro records the wrist 200 times a second, works out each stroke and its side, and puts that next to the GPS track, heart rate, and the wind and water you paddled in.
It is built by Max Kim, a software engineer who paddles, under Carve Lab LLC. Every method is published onHow it measures, including what hasn't been checked yet, because a number you can't trust isn't worth training on.
